Frequently Asked Questions
Are all breeds allowed at Daycare? Lodging?
Yes, assuming your dog is friendly and can play nicely. We never discriminate by breed or size, but we do not tolerate aggressive dogs.
My dog is aggressive toward other dogs. Can he/she attend Daycare? Lodging?
No, any dog who shows aggressive behavior will be separated immediately, and will not be allowed back in the future. Please understand that a daycare environment is different than home, and dogs may play differently than they do at home. Sometimes behavior issues can be apparent within minutes, and sometimes issues may not develop for several visits. If your dog isn't a good fit at The Ruff Life, it doesn't mean you have a bad dog, but we cannot tolerate aggressive dogs, those who play too rough, or those who escalate certain circumstances.
My dog plays better with dogs of similar size. How will you ensure my dog will be comfortable at Daycare?
We do not separate by size and must be able to be with all sizes.
How old does my puppy need to be to attend Daycare? Lodging?
Your puppy can attend as soon as he or she is up-to-date on vaccinations. Give us a call and let's discuss!
My dog is sick. Can he/she come to Daycare?
No, if your dog is showing signs of illness, we cannot allow your dog in daycare until he or she is healthy. This is for the safety of all our members. Some signs to look for include: sneezing, coughing, runny nose or eyes, diarrhea, and/or persistent vomiting.
How does your overnight (Lodging) care work?
We offer overnight lodging to all regular Ruff Life pack members. Our overnight care is limited since our employees take your babies home with them to ensure they have the best time. Your pup will also participate in daycare activities.
Can my dog attend Lodging if he/she does not regularly attend Daycare?
Due to limited availability, we reserve overnight lodging for our clients who use daycare services on a regular basis. Please inquire for additional information on becoming part of The Ruff Life Pack.
Are you open on weekends?
Currently we will be closed on weekends.
Are you open on holidays?
No we are closed over the holidays to allow our employees time with their family.
Do you have a webcam?
No we do not but you can check-in on your dog anytime throughout the day by text or instagram. You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram to see pictures of your pup at play.
How do I pay?
You may pay by credit card or cash. Members using our daycare and lodging services must keep a credit card on file. Payment is due upon pickup.
Can I tour your facility?
Due to COVID we are not allowing people to tour the facility. But with the way it is set up we allow people to come to the doorway to look and see the play area. We also post videos and pictures on our instagram and facebook.
How can I ensure your facility is safe and clean?
We are licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which means we pass an annual inspection in order to operate. Not only do we meet these standards, we strive to go the extra mile to provide a clean and safe environment. Just ask my own pup, Snoop, who spends his days at The Ruff Life.
Will my dog go outside?
Yes! We provide a midday leash walk for our daycare dogs weather permitted.
How do I join the pack?
Just complete our our application and agreement forms. Call or email us to discuss your dog’s first day!
What happens if I'm running late?
Please let us know as soon as possible. After normal hours, we charge a late pickup charge of $0.50 per minute that you are late. After 15 minutes late, we reserve the right to board your dog overnight. He or she will be walked, fed, and tucked in until morning. Overnight fees will be assessed.
